The 4-day tour offered by Palccoyo Experience is a great excursion to the best of the “heartland of the Incas.” A well-organized tour selection of Cusco historical sites along with the awe-inspiring Sacred Valley, citadel of Machu Picchu and Rainbow Mountain of Palccoyo.
You will be accommodated in comfortable spaces, have bilingual guides with you, and get picked up and dropped off at each point on this trip! Specially designed for travelers who wish to travel Cusco and environs in a comfortable and immersive way and see the highlights of the tour in Cusco.
This tour is ideal for both the first time travellers to Peru and for anyone returning to the landmark attractions as it is an unforgettable four days primarily filled with ancient history, modern day-life and spectacular natural wonders.
The adventure begins at an airport which is picked up and transferred to your Cusco hotel, allowing you to unload your luggage and get used to the altitude. From 7:00 to 7:30 AM your guide will pick you up from the hotel and embark on the tour to Sacred Valley. The first stop is at Pisac, where you can take a guided tour of 40 minute's length with the opportunity to explore the impressive terraces and archaeological complex consisting of 12 gardens and a trails circuit. Then you will travel to Urubamba for a wonderful buffet lunch, where you will enjoy some of the Peruvian specialties, as well as some less popular international options. The sacred valley tour heads to the final ‘Last living Inca town' of Ollantaytambo in the afternoon. This is part of a 40-minute guided tour of its amazing stone fortress and traditional streets, before the end of the day in Chinchero. It is the village of the rainbow with information about the Inca architecture and traditional art for making textiles. The town will be Cusco, which you will be back at around 7:00 PM at Plaza Regocijo.
The exciting day starts with an early (4:00 AM) pickup from the hotel and travel to Inca Rail station. The route to Ollantaytambo is by road and the following train ride is down through the verdant valley to Aguas Calientes. After getting off the bus in the town you take the Consettur bus to the citadel of Machu Picchu, it's the only way to reach the citadel. Conducted by a professional bilingual guide, it is a Machu Picchu tour that guides you in the incredible space of this Wonder of the World. You will explore its temples, ceremonial plazas and expert agricultural terraces, and learn advanced Inca engineering and history. Once the guided tour is finished, you will be picked up by bus and return to Aguas Calientes where you can have a rest of the day for lunch and exploring the village. Later in the evening (from 6:00 - 8:00 PM) you board the train back to Ollantaytambo, and our staff will be waiting in Plaza Regocijo to pick you up for the comfortable journey back to Cusco arriving at about 10:00 PM.
Palccoyo is about to start the tour of the rainbow mountains early with collection from 4:30-5:00 AM. Then, you'll head to Cusipata for a picturesque and very good breakfast before stopping by Checacupe to see the ancient Inca and Colonial bridges. From there the trail takes you into the base area to cross the Palccoyo Pass at 4880m, requiring a moderate grind up hill for 30-45 minutes. On top you'll experience incredible panoramic views of the beautiful-colored Three Rainbow Mountains, Ausangate and the one-of-a-kind Stone Forest in the Palccoyo rainbow mountain. Give yourself about an hour to get your more pastoral photos and appreciate the wonderful views of this lesser-known Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain. After descending you'll find a warm lunch at Cusipata. Then, making the ride back by private car, you'll arrive at Plaza Regocijo around 5:30 PM in Cusco. It's indeed a highlight for nature lovers on this Palccoyo rainbow mountain tour.
